The auriferous deposits located at the eastern border of the western mountain range, especially the ones in the San Francisco Range- Fondas-Limoncito, have been exploited since the pre-Colombian era.The mining activities of subterranean exploitation comprise mostly of exploitation titles, exploration licences and concession contracts, most of which have environmental licenses in transit.
Artisanal Mining recuperates an average of 10 g/t of gold, from which we can estimate an average in the quartz-sulfides veins,
in general, have close to 20 g/t of gold, seeing that what artisanal miners succeed in extracting doesn’t exceed 50% of the total content of gold.

The Playa Rica Mine has all of the required permits for the development and exploitation process of mine concession approved by the competent authority. Currently the project is preoperative and awaiting investment.
